The State has announced it is going to spend millions and millions of tax dollars to make Belleayre Ski Center (operated by the Department of Environmental Conservation) 62 percent larger than it is now. Despite a bad economy, a budget deficit and multi-million dollar losses at Belleayre, the DEC continues to upgrade, expand, and compete unfairly with private ski resorts.

For the past two years, despite receiving more than $2.5 million in funding, Belleayre LOST $1 million a year.

They did that while giving away free passes and low-cost tickets that robbed business from private resorts and damaged the economies of the communities they are in.
